Camping up the Canyon

Every summer we try at get away for at least one night of camping-with Johnny's crazy schedule our weekend was cut a little short, but we found a new favorite place up American Fork Canyon. It was really pretty and the kids had a blast.

Once it got dark the flashlights and glow sticks came out for some fun-

Sleeping Under the Stars

Well. . . sort of. . .sleeping (if you could call it that-I was paranoid with all of the bear warning signs) at least the kids and Rosco had a good night sleep.

Old School

So this weekend while attending my favorite freshman roomate, Kelley's daughters first birthday party, I met up with anoth old school friend from Taylor Hall Sarah- seeingthem brought back so many old memories that I started googling names of other girls from my dorm room days that I have lost touch with and my favorite discovery-Cheyney!!!!

Gossip Girl

Ok-so I will fully admit that more she grows up, the more Syd takes on some of my mannerisms, but today she totally blew me away when after attending the ward social this morning she reported the following with a twinkle in her eye:

Syd- Mom, guess what-Lauren kissed Matthew

Me- No way

Syd- Yup on the cheek

Me- What did Matthew do?

Syd- Nothing

Me- Wow

Syd- Yeah it was insane!

I love her- also last week I made a big breakfast on Sunday morning (Johnny has been working insane hours) and when he came out and said- Wow, it would have been even better if it was in bed- Syd's instant response was "Bummer" ! She's the best and truthfully like mother like daughter I hope the stroies continue because I love a good story.

Pool Party

While I am at work the kids go to a cute Lutheran Day Care, and Friday night was the yearly pool party. So with Johnny off fly fishing (he sooo needed a break he has been working 6-7 days a week and crazy hours) I loaded the kids and headed to the pool. We had a good time, and Syd had fun playing in the inner tubes.

With Johnny gone- I got myself a Redbox- Cofessions of a Shop Aholic- pretty cute. I am just a sucker for a good chick flick.

Fun at the Zoo

The weather finally cooled off enough to venture out to the zoo for a few hours- we saw the new baby snow leopard and the new baby giraffe.

Balboa

On Saturday morning after the always fun and exciting Lewis family photos- Johnny and I took the kids and headed down to Balboa with breakfast in hand (donuts just taste better in California) and went to our favorite spot. The heavens aligned and we scored rock star parking. It was so fun and relaxing- after breakfast we went and played on the beach. Such a great morning-as you can tell from the pictures-the kids were really glad their dad was here to play. We then headed to help my sister get ready for her daughter's baptism.
